XML and XSLT

eXtensible Markup Language is a language for storing information that is commonly accessible by all languages on all platforms. XML is a ‘tag based’ language similar to HTML.

XML is an excellent way of passing data around the internet and between applications. Because of the hierarchical structure you can capture information in a logical format that can be interpreted by humans and computers.

XSLTs are used to transform XML data into a specific format. For example an XML file with data can be displayed in an HTML table using XSLT.
